One day like any other

It's been 2 months and a half since I came to England.
My name is Eduardo, I'm 21 years old, I'm 1'91m hight and I have no idea how much is that in feet. I come from Benalmádena. A big seaside village near Málaga, in the south of Spain.

When I arrived, I just had one thing in my hand. A candy bar. The rest of my properties were in the trunk of the plane.

I came with my cousin and his girlfriend, and I'm pretty sure we were the only non english people in the plane. We left Málaga arround 12 a.m and with it we left our family, our friends, our computers (except my cousin's one), our language and our cars aswell. It sucks... you just can bring 20kg in your bag.

Anyway... why Hull? To be honest, It wasn't my choice. It was the Boots choice. "P" who works for them had some different cities to choose and this one was one of them.

I had thought about comming to England a few times but I never had nuts.
When my cousin told me: Me and my girlfrend are going to England in two months.
I said: Can I go with you? (It was my opportunity, I had 1000€ in my piggybank!!)

I spoke to my grandpha and those 1ooo€ becamed 2000€... it was pretty good.

Well, we took the plane, we came here, and we started to look for job (my cousin and I, P already had one) and a house. Today, still looking for a job so... if you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you find us, maybe you can hire us.

About the house... Boots provided to P a B&B for two people for a month. I had to pay It but... whe shared the payment. Of course, I wasn't paying the B&B for a whole month. Just for 5 days. In that time I found my first house. I hadn't even a matress and the house did smell bad. My flat mate was allways watching tv and she never was interested in speaking with me at all. My other flatmate tried to avoid me and... I'm pretty sure that I had two polish flatemates living in the top.
Well, that house was a disaster (the window in my room didn't close and It was being a snowing time) so... I move out the first week and I lost my money...
I had met a spanish guy a few days ago so he let me stay in his house while I found another place.
Finally whe get this house. The one where we are living now. At first the heating didn't work but... now is fixed.

This has been in short our first 10 weeks in England.

Today was a day like any other. "D" and I went to the jobcenter plus, sent some CVs and whatched some tv... Actually don't. I think this has been the first day we havn't whatched tv.
Well, P came from work and we decided (actually she did, but we are agree) to get a real broadband, and not this stupid, little shit, fucking mobile dickhead broadband thing they call internet.

It wasn't a very interesting day but... It was a day anyway

  1. Hey, should I write my comments in English? You want to laught at me, isn't it? Ok, ok, I'll try. This is a good idea, you are going to learn a lot writing this (and maybe we too). I wanted to make a joke in English, but it's impossible so... Bye!
(I'm going to add a subscription to this blog. Bye and good luck!)

  2. Hello Eduardo. I'm very interested about your adventures. I'm also from Spain and I always had asked how it would be to live in England for some time. I'll keep reading.

Yes, is not only because you are my brother.
